Overview

A Sale Deed is the legal document that finalises and proves the transfer of ownership of a property from the seller to the buyer. It is executed on stamp paper, signed by both parties, and registered at the Sub-Registrar Office (SRO) under the Registration Act, 1908.
In Goa, once a sale deed is registered, it becomes a public record of ownership, maintained by the Department of Registration, Government of Goa.
